About Us
Company Outline
Since 1996, Infomax is the first company in Taiwan dedicated to develop and manufacture transmission equipment for HFC (Hybrid Fiber/Coaxial) and RoF (Radio-over-Fiber) networks. Infomax proprietary technology includes patented core technologies in fiber-optic and radio-frequency subcarrier transmission for analog or digital video, voice and data multi-media signals; critical patents granted by the USA, Japan, the European Union, China and Taiwan, in the span of predistortion circuit design, etc. Infomax product portfolio encompasses, among others, CATV optical transmitters, optical receivers and Erbium-doped fiber amplifier; these find applications in cable-TV broadcasting, satellite TV distribution, and bi-directional data/ multi-media fiber-optic networking transmission. Four Outstanding Photonics Product Awards have been granted to Infomax by The International Optoelectronics Exposition: (1) Optical transmitters and receivers for CATV fiber-optic down-stream and up-stream networks; (2) High-power 1550nm externally-modulated optical transmitter for CATV fiber-optic networks; (3) ASE light source; (4) Erbium-doped fiber amplifier for DWDM systems.
Infomax technical team is solid and well-trained; it bears profound experience and expertise in a variety of fields, from the design and manufacture of fiber-optic components, modules, subsystem and equipment, to radio-frequency related issues. Our Subsystem R&D Group has developed a series of CATV direct-modulation type and external-modulation type optical transmitters. These are leading products in Taiwan and can be major ODM products for major players in the CATV equipment market. In September 2009, Infomax established the Optoelectronic Module R&D Group. Its first focus is DWDM tunable lasers for NGN applications (Next Generation Network; 10Gb/s, 40Gb/s, 100Gb/s). Infomax aims to keep his position of technical leader in the Taiwanese industry there, too.
The current Infomax derives from the main body of NETI (New Elite Technologies, Inc.) where it inherited all technologies, product lines and business from. NETI was established in 1996, focusing on CATV fiber-optic transmitters, receivers and EDFAs. On the other hand, Infomax was established in 2000, focusing on fiber-optic active components (LDs, PDs). In 2003, Infomax acquired NETI. For strategic considerations, the original component-based assets of Infomax were sold out at the end of May 2010.
